Mere 309 kms from Jaipur, Chittaurgarh district lies in the south-eastern part of Rajasthan. One of the most fertile districts of Rajasthan, it offers an incredibly diverse array of vacation excitement that's sure to please any traveler. But the main reason for visiting Chittaurgarh is its massive hilltop fort, which is a depiction of Rajput culture and values. The fort stands on a 240-hectares site on an 180m high hill that rises rapidly from the plains below. The comforting charm of Chittaurgarh's rugged landscape make you walk along its quaint country roads, tour its historic fort and shop with the locals in city.

Chittorgarh Fort
Chittorgarh Fort will surely capture your imagination, and it would never let go again. According to often told legend the construction of the fort was started by Bhim a Pandav hero of mythological epic Mahabharata. The fort has many magnificent monuments. A massive structure with a 1 kilometer zigzag accent to it, the road leads through seven gates to the main gate Rampol. Within the fort a circular runs around the ruins of the fort.

Victory tower at Chittorgarh
If you have time to spare, just drop in to view the Victory tower of Chittorgarh. This tower commemorates victory in a battle fought in the 13th century. Inside the staircase is made up of short square flights around a central core. Not all of them have windows. The two top levels cover the whole floor area and from here you get a very good view of the whole fort.
Tower of Fame: Kirti Stambh
You will be thrilled at the chance to interact with the natives and explore their exotic heritage. A visit to Kirti Stambh will let you know the religious aspect of Chittorgarh. Dedicated to Adinathji the 1st Jain Teerthankar adorned by the naked figures of the Digambars. A narrow stairway goes through seven stories of the tower to the top.

Rana Kumbha Palace
A must, Rana Kumbha Palace is a terrific opportunity to observe the ruined edifice of great historical and architectural interest. It is the most massive monument in the fort of Chittaur. The palace is believed to have underground cellars where Rani Padmini and other women committed Jauhar.

Kumbha Shyam Temple
Though it is an ordinary temple, it has a power that few places hold. Built during the region of Rana Kumbha in the Indo-Aryan style, the temple is associated with the mystic poetess Meerabai- an ardent Krishna devotee.
