Bikaner: The royal walled medieval city dating back to 1486 AD lies on the northern point of the triangle of desert cities. It was established by Prince Bika Rathore and came to be called Bikaner after him. Bikaner stands on a slightly raised ground and is circumscribed by a seven-km long embattled wall with five gates. The magnificent forts and palaces created with delicacy in reddish-pink sandstone bear testimony to its rich historical and architectural legacy. Undulating lanes, colorful bazaars, bright and cheerful folks make Bikaner an interesting place.
For a town of its relatively small size, it is amazing how daring and dynamic is Bikaner's cultural scene. For two days every year this city exudes a festive air with a unique Camel Festival held here.

Mandawa:
This little place is highly recommended. Mandawa is a great place to seclude yourself away from the worries of everyday life, as it offers a wonderful and relaxed environment. Famous for its breathtaking views out over the Castle, a true fortress, Mandawa is not to be missed. The views really are mesmerizing and you can meet a lot of folks with similar interest and attitudes. Always ask you local host where the best restaurants are. You will never find them on your own.
